100mm-150mm Drain Descaling Kit

Price range: €169.19 through €758.51

This Drain Descaling Kit is designed for removing hard scale, tree roots, and heavy deposits from PVC, metal, and ceramic 100mm–150mm pipes.

Description

This descaling kit is designed for the effective removal of heavy internal deposits in larger pipes, including 100mm–150mm PVC, metal, and ceramic systems. It is particularly effective against tough build-ups such as tree root intrusion, tuberculation, limescale, urine scale, cement, and tile grout that cannot be removed with standard jetting alone.

The system uses a circular chain design that works across the full inner circumference of the pipe. Unlike traditional chain knockers that impact the pipe wall in isolated points, this design distributes contact evenly, resulting in more consistent descaling and reduced risk of localized pipe damage.

The circular chains that come with this kit are suitable for removing soft blockages, but these chains have more links on the pipe wall at any given moment than a conventional drain cleaning chain. This gives them an advantage for descaling tasks.

Depending on the selected configuration, the kit can be used in PVC pipes using a less aggressive chain setup, or for metal and ceramic pipes using tungsten carbide reinforced chains for maximum cleaning performance. This makes the system suitable for both delicate cleaning work and heavy-duty descaling tasks.

  • Pipe diameter range: 100mm–150mm
  • Pipe compatibility: PVC, metal, and ceramic (depending on selection)
  • Shaft size: Flexible shaft system with protective sleeve
  • Chain type: Circular descaling chains
  • Cutting options: With or without tungsten carbide bits
  • Crown drill head: 25mm (included for metal/ceramic configurations)
  • Operation: Full circumference descaling action

The drain descaling kit includes:

  • Flexible Shaft with Sleeve, Friction Rings, Shaft Lock and a Spring
  • Drill to Shaft Adapter
  • Circular Chain DN100mm (depending on your selection the chains will either have tungsten carbide bits or not)
  • Circular Chain DN150 mm (depending on your selection the chains will either have tungsten carbide bits or not)
  • Crown Drill Head without chains 25 mm (only if the tools for metal/ceramics pipes are selected)
  • Shaft carrier (if selected)

  • Depending on your selection, the chains can either have tungsten carbide bits fused to the cutting edge, or in the case of PVC pipes the chains will be plain chains (without tungsten carbide bits). This prevents damage to the pipe wall of PVC pipes.
  • If you choose the option for both PVC and metal/ceramic pipes, then we will supply the kit with all of the chains (1x100mm with bits, 1x100mm without bits, 1x150mm with bits and 1x150mm without bits)

  • Please note that the flexible shaft carrier will hold a maximum of 30m of the 6mm and 8mm shafts, 20m of the 10mm shaft and 15m of the 12mm shaft.
  • The carrier is not designed to hold more than 20m of the 10mm shaft and 15m of the 12mm shaft.
  1. Lubricate the shaft thoroughly as shown here.
  2. Select the correct chain type for PVC or metal/ceramic pipes.
  3. Attach the circular chain to the flexible shaft system.
  4. Connect the shaft to a drill using the drill-to-shaft adapter and set the torque limiter as shown here.
  5. Insert the tool into the pipe via an access point.
  6. Rotate the shaft to engage the circular chain action.
  7. Move slowly through the pipe to allow full circumference descaling.
  8. Repeat if necessary until deposits are fully removed.
  9. Flush and inspect the pipe after cleaning.

  • 8mm shaft is a lightweight shaft and is suitable for soft blockages such as grease. It is also our second most flexible shaft, making it a good choice for pipes with multiple bends, but not the best option for descaling.
  • 10mm shaft is less flexible and can usually pass through around 2–3 bends. This is a heavy-duty shaft that provides more torque and is suitable for both soft and hard blockages, as well as descaling.
  • 12mm shaft is our most rigid shaft and provides the highest amount of torque, but it is also the least flexible option.

Always lubricate your shaft before first use.
Please follow this link to learn more about why lubrication is important and how to lubricate your flexible shaft.

Do not use the shaft inside the carrier.

When operating, your shaft should be unwound to at least a 1m diameter, which is the natural coil size where friction and heat buildup are minimized. Otherwise, friction and heat buildup between the shaft and the sleeve will significantly reduce the shaft's performance and lifespan.
