Introduction
Many of our customers often ask about which machines are compatible with our flexible shafts. This article provides detailed information about our tools, helping users fully understand their potential and discover all the possibilities and benefits they offer.
Specifications and flexibility
Our flexible shafts are crafted by winding spring-grade steel in opposing directions on a single mandrel. This unique construction allows for consistent torque in both directions of rotation.
One key difference between our flexible shafts and those from other brands is the rigidity of the shaft set. According to customer feedback, our shafts are stiffer than Ridgid Flexshafts. While Picote’s flexible shaft shares similar specifications, our protective sleeve is thinner, giving it more flexibility compared to the Picote model.
Disclaimer
We manufacture our own brand of flexible shafts. Over time, our customers have adapted them to work with Ridgid K9-102 and Ridgid K9-204 sewer cleaning machines. However, it’s important to note that we do not claim to produce replacement shafts for Ridgid Flexshafts or any other brand’s machines.
Our 102 and 204 adapters
Customers have informed us that they prefer our shafts for their Ridgid machines because our shafts are stiffer and do not coil up inside the pipe when more torque is applied.
These adapters, made in our workshop, are designed specifically for customers who requested that we adapt our flexible shafts for use with Ridgid sewer cleaning systems. We do not encourage replacing your Ridgid machines with our tools, but we do recommend using our tools to complement your existing Ridgid setup.
To further assist our customers, we offer flexible shafts with the 102 or 204 adapter pre-crimped. These sets can be found here:

Other brands’ machines compatible with our tools
Below is a list of machines that are compatible with our flexible shafts. The list includes the maximum shaft length and the type of chain used (lightweight or heavy-duty) for each machine:
- Picote Super Midi uses a 12mm shaft (maximum length 20m) and a heavy-duty chain
- Picote Maxi Miller uses a 12mm shaft (maximum length 30m) and a heavy-duty chain
- Picote Midi Cleaner uses a 10mm shaft (maximum length 23m) and a heavy-duty chain
- Picote Mini Cleaner uses an 8mm shaft (maximum length 16m) and a lightweight chain
- Picote Mini Miller uses an 8mm shaft (maximum length 16m) and a lightweight chain
- Ridgid K9-102 FlexShaft® Machine uses a 6mm shaft (maximum length 15m) and a lightweight chain
- Ridgid K9-204 FlexShaft® Machine uses an 8mm shaft (maximum length 21m) and a lightweight chain
- Milwaukee M18 FUEL High Speed Flexible Shaft Machine uses an 8mm shaft (maximum length 25m) and a lightweight chain
We recommend these chain options for your machines:
Blockage Removal in Metal Pipes: We suggest using our Croco or X-tip chains for these tougher materials.
Descaling for Pipe Relining: Our circular chains, designed for both PVC and metal pipes, are ideal.
Blockage Removal in PVC Pipes: Our plain chain knockers are highly effective for these tasks.
Conclusion
Although we do not sell replacement parts for machines from other brands, some of our customers have chosen to use our flexible shafts with their equipment. This is because our shafts do not coil up on the inner diameter of the pipe when substantial torque is applied.
We do not recommend that our customers stop using machines from other brands. On the contrary, we encourage them to fully utilize the potential of their existing tools and, whenever possible, incorporate our tools to enhance their current setup.
