These bladders are not made in the same style as our packer base set. Since they are translucent they can be used for UV curing.
Silicone only has a surface energy of 24 dynes/cm, so the molecular force between epoxy and silicone is weak. This makes silicone an ideal material for creating a packer for cured in place pipe repairs, because the resin will slide off of the silicone surface as opposed to a rubber bladder which will react negatively when in contact with epoxy.
Since silicone bladders are more efficient, they can also be thinner. Thickness of these bladders is 0.8mm for pipe diameters 70mm - 100mm (3" to 4") and 1.1mm for bladders used in 125mm to 400mm pipes (5" to 16").
These bladders can be used for hot water curing or steam curing. They withstand a temperature to a maximum of 80 degrees Celsius (176 degrees Fahrenheit).
They have a seamless weld which makes them strong, so the chances of them leaking is reduced significantly.
Recommended pressure: 0,7bar to a maximum of 1,0 bar. (Except the 200mm upward. The recommended pressure for these is 0,5 bar to a maximum of 0,7bar.)
Bladders are 10% below nominal diameter. So for example DN100 is OD90mm, DN150 is OD135mm etc. When pressurized they expand to the pipe diameter.
Points to note:
Please note that the bladders are manufactured upon order, which may cause a slight delay in delivery.
