Ever lost a nylon or carbide brush down a drain? Perhaps you are looking for a lock to keep your shafts sleeve from moving?
We have developed these locks to anchor a point on your shaft.
Nylon and Carbide brushes
The nylon and carbide brushes have plastic set screws because it is not possible to make them with steel. The plastic set screws will hold the brush in place, but they can strip easily. Especially if they are over tightened. These locks will keep the brush secured to the shaft and prevent it from slipping off if the set screws fail.
Clients have reported that they use these locks to secure a wire brush too.
Prevent the sleeve from moving
Too much exposed shaft near the drill is a weak point because if the shaft should stop suddenly, and the torque limiter does not engage in time, the exposed section of shaft is the most likely place where the shaft could kink. Keep the section of exposed shaft (without a sleeve) near the drill end of your shaft to a minimum with this shaft lock.
Whilst the sleeve movement has very little impact on your shafts performance, some clients prefer to have an exposed section of shaft (without the sleeve) on the tool end. This lock will allow you to achieve this.
Protect your chains
Feedback from clients indicates that some clients add a Shaft lock to the front of their chains (without a drill head) to give the chain a beveled surface when navigating around elbows in drain pipes.
Please note that we sell them individually, so if you need a lock on either side of the brush, then you would need to order two.
The locks are made from stainless steel to prevent corrosion, and they are tightened on to the shaft with set screws.
