Flexible Shaft Carrier – Assembly and Usage Guide

Flexible Shaft Carrier

At Plumber Tools, one of the most frequently asked questions we receive is:

“How do I assemble my new flexible shaft carrier?”

To help you out, we’ve created a short video that introduces our flexible shaft holder and demonstrates how to assemble and use it effectively. This tool is designed to protect your customers’ carpets, floors, and other surfaces while providing a convenient way to store and transport your flexible shafts.

Key Features of the Flexible Shaft Carrier

The flexible shaft holder allows you to neatly coil your flexible shaft in your van, making it easy to store multiple shafts of varying sizes. It ensures your shafts are organized and accessible, helping you save time during sewer cleaning jobs.

When using the flexible shaft to unblock drains or descale pipes, it’s important to unwind it fully. This prevents unnecessary wear and tear on the shaft and ensures optimal performance.

Our shaft holder has quickly become an essential piece of equipment for sewer cleaning professionals. Lightweight and compact, it’s easy to carry into tight spaces such as elevators and fits conveniently in standard vehicles.

Where to Purchase the Flexible Shaft Carrier

You can order the flexible shaft holder from our online store:

Important Tips for Maintaining Your Flexible Shaft
1. Lubrication Is Essential

Proper lubrication is critical for the longevity and efficiency of your flexible shaft machine. Always lubricate the shaft before its first use, and regularly check the lubrication between the shaft and its protective sheath every few weeks.

Lubrication reduces friction, allowing the shaft to work more efficiently over longer distances. For best results, we recommend using basic machine oil. To lubricate, simply pour a small amount of oil between the shaft and the sheath.

For a step-by-step guide, check out our video on shaft lubrication.

2. Choosing the Right Drill

Whether you prefer a corded or cordless drill, make sure to avoid using the hammer action function. The hammer action can damage both the flexible shaft and its protective sheath, compromising performance and durability.

3. Save Water with Flexible Shaft Machines

Using a flexible shaft machine is far more water-efficient than traditional hydro jetting machines. It requires less than 3% of the water needed to achieve the same results, making it an eco-friendly and cost-effective solution for sewer cleaning.

A Few Important Notes About Compatibility

The holder will carry a maximum of 30meters of the 6mm and 8mm shafts. It will hold 20meters of the 10mm shaft and 15meters of the 12mm shaft.

We take pride in manufacturing our own brand of flexible shafts, designed with durability and efficiency in mind. Some customers have adapted our shafts for use with Ridgid K102 and Ridgid K204 sewer cleaning machines. However, it’s worth noting that our shafts are slightly more rigid than Ridgid’s Flexshafts.

Important: We do not claim that we have a replacement shaft for a Ridgid Flexshaft.
