Introduction
Our shaft carrier has quickly become a key tool for many sewer cleaning professionals. It is specifically designed to hold and transport your flexible drain cleaning shaft. Lightweight and compact, the carrier makes it easy to bring the shaft with you in an elevator or store it in a standard vehicle.
Should I take the shaft outside of the shaft carrier while operating it?
We recommend unrolling as much of the flexible shaft as possible during operation.
Although it’s possible to use the flexible shaft while it’s still inside the carrier, this significantly reduces its performance. The tighter the shaft is wound in the coil, the more it rubs against the protective sleeve. Instead of transferring speed and torque to the tool end, much of the energy is wasted as heat buildup in the sleeve.
The 6mm and 8mm flexible shafts can be used inside the carrier in an emergency, but only for short durations, as it may unnecessarily strain your drill.
Unraveling the flexible shaft
To determine the ideal coil size, place a protective ground sheet on your working surface and then carefully remove the flexible shaft from the carrier. The shaft will naturally form a coil size that is most suitable for maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
Will shafts of any size fit in the shaft carrier?
The shaft carrier can hold up to 30 meters of 6mm and 8mm shafts. It can store 20 meters of 10mm shaft and 15 meters of 12mm shaft.
How to assemble the shaft carrier?
When placing the flexible shaft in and out of the carrier, be careful not to twist the protective sleeve. Twisting the sleeve may cause damage, which might not impact immediate performance but can create weak spots where friction will accumulate over time.

Conclusion
We do not advise using the flexible shaft inside the carrier while in use. Operating the shaft coiled up inside the carrier will hinder its performance and put unnecessary strain on your drill.
Additionally, not all shaft sizes are compatible with the carrier. Be sure to check the dimensions of your flexible shaft before making an order.
